Russia under the State Program increased 725.8 tons of gold reserves

13 May 2016

In 2015, Russia increased its gold reserves by 725.8 tons within the framework of the program of mineral resources base reproduction for diamonds and precious metals, follows from the adjusted annual report on the implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of the state program ‘Reproduction and use of natural resources’ in 2015" (http://www.mnr.gov.ru/regulatory/detail.php?ID=143601). Implementation of the program of measures ensured the reproduction at the level of production compensation. Localization pofrognostic resources of P1 + P2 categories was as follows: gold – 1.245 thousand tons, silver - 4.73 thousand tons, diamonds - 1.552 billion carats; growth of reserves of C1 + C2 categories: gold - 725.8 tons of silver - 1,5 thousand tons, diamond - 2.1 million carats, platinum group metals - 72.8 tons. At the same time, the report notes that over the past 10 years, despite the considerable volumes of prospecting surveys (ALROSA JSC - up to 5 billion rubles per year), the growth of reserves exceeding the production have been obtained only in 2007 and 2009. The average value of production compensation with reserves increase over 10 years is about 60%. In 2015, total expenditure on the state program from the federal budget amounted to 52.691 billion rubles, which is 17% less than planned at the beginning of the year and 14% less than planned after the budget adjustments. The greatest reduction was observed, in particular, with the federal target program "Reproduction of the mineral resource base, geological studies of subsoils" (from 36.53 billion down to 31.57 billion rubles). At that, rough diamonds and native gold are included in the group of insufficient provision with reserves under classification, which takes into account the ratio of reserves to a level of maturity in the subsoils. This group is characterized by the provision for 25-50 years (2015-2040 years). As reported, in 2015, for the first time 49 deposits of solid minerals were put on the state balance. The most important - Malmyzhskoe copper-porphyry deposit in the Khabarovsk Territory; Panimba gold deposit in the Krasnoyarsk region; Elkinskoe and Elanskoye nickel deposits in the Voronezh region.
