Kamchatka to increase gold production by 75%, platinum by 44% in 2016

According to the results of 2016, the government of Kamchatskiy Krai expects a production of 6.5 tons of gold, 5 tons of silver, 400 kg of platinum, as Regional Ministry of Natural Resources informs PRIME Agency. Earlier it was reported that in 2015, the subsoil users of Kamchatka produced 3.716 tons of gold, 3.325 tons of silver and 278.5 kg of platinum. Thus, the growth of production volumes will be: 74.9 %; 50.4% and 43.6% respectively. As the Agency was informed, in the first quarter of 2016, 1.53 tons of gold (54 % increase) has been mined in the region, of which the share of Kamchatka Gold (Zoloto Kamchatki JSC) (in the structure of GC Renova) is 1.294 tons (71.4% increase); 2.281 tons of silver (287, 5% increase), including 2.036 tons of Zoloto Kamchatki JSC (458,6% increase). “The increase of mining of gold and accompanying silver in the first quarter of 2016 is associated with commissioning of mining and processing plant at Ametist gold deposit (Zoloto Kamchatki JSC) in September 2015”, says representatives of Ministry. Besides GC Renova, precious metals mining at Kamchatka is also conducted by Trevozhnoe Zarevo CJSC, part of Trans-Siberian Gold (Asachinskoe gold and silver depository), as well as placer enterprises, in particular Andarit LLC, A/S Kamchatka CJSC, A/S Vektor Plyus LLC, and Penzhinskaya Mining Company LLC.
