Transbaikal increased gold output by 34% in January-June

21 Jul 2016
Subsoil users of Trans-Baikal Krai produced 4.26 tons of gold in January-June 2016, which is 36% more than the same period of last year, saidin the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Krai to PRIME. The largest share of the recovered gold - 2544.15 kg - accounts for ore deposits, as mining placer season has begun in full force only in June, and only 1715.3 kg have been produced so far.” The increase in production is due to the stable performance of gold factory ZAO AleksandrovskiyRudnik (partof GRK Zapadnaya), as well as increased production of OOO Darasunsky Rudnik (partof UGC). Active development of new ore deposits is under wayin the Trans-Baikal region,” explained in the department.
  • In July, the company Kamenskiy Karier, previously placer gold miner, launched gold recovery plant into production at the mill in Kazakovo-Klyucheskiy field (Baleysky District), working on classical gravitational scheme. The interviewee did not specify the capacity of the plant, saying that this year the company intends to produce 50 kg of gold.
  • ZAO ZRK Omchak launched stripping operations at the Verkhne-Aliinskoye field in Baleysky District. The company plans in early 2017 to put into operation the gold recovery plantfor 200 thousand tons of ore per year and begin commercial production of gold ore. After reaching the industrialcapacity, the factory will be able to produce 1-1.3 tons of goldannually.
  • It is expected that in 2017 OOO Ksenevskiy Priisk will begin extracting gold ore at Itakinskoye field.
  • OOO GRK Bystrinskoye (part of Nornikel) is planning to launch in the fourth quarter 2017 mineral processing plant at the same mine field (reserves of B + C1 + C2 of 2.1 million tons of copper, 7.6 million ounces of gold, 34.1 million ounces of silver and 67 million tonsof magnetite iron), and to reach full production capacity of 65.8 thousand tons of copper per yearby 2019.
AONovo-ShirokinskiyRudnik (part of the Highland Gold) plans to double ore processing in 2018 to 1.3 million tons. As a result, the volume of gold production will increase from 1.5 tons to 2-2.5 tons. However, the resource base is dwindling in Shilkinsky District at ZAO Rudnik Aprelkovo (partof Nordgold). Now the company reduces costs, and undergoes re-registration with tax registration in Moscow. To maintain production volumes (615.8 kg in 2015), the company will need to be involved in the testing of reserves at greater depths and flanks. In 2015, 11.287 tons of gold were produced in the Trans-Baikal region, which is 15.66% more than the year before. The largest volumeaccounts for the placer gold that was extracted in the amount of 6,384 tons.
