“Uralelectromed” shall increase the precious metals extraction

15 Sep 2016
"Uralelectromed" (UMMC enterprise) intends to increase the precious metals extraction by means of the introduction of new technology of production of antimony-tin concentrate, according to the company. For this purpose “Uralelectromed” chemical and metallurgical shop started the construction of the site for the antimony-tin concentrate production. The technology allows for the production of about 40 tons of product annually. The cost of the project is estimated at 60 million rubles. The main objective of the project is to increase the precious metals extraction due to the depuration of antimony and tin during the technological processes. “Uralelectromed” extracts gold and silver bars from the copper anode slime, as well as selenium and tellurium. The antimony and tin present in the sludge reduce the effectiveness of these processes, according to the company. Thus, the output of these elements in a separate product shall allow not only to reduce the burden on the plant process equipment but to extract an additional portion of the precious metals. According to the company preliminary calculations through the new technology introduction additional gold production will exceed 60 kg. per year, and silver production will exceed 1.8 tons. Currently the preparation of foundations for technological equipment is carried at the site. The commissioning is scheduled for this December according to the report. The process procedure and new site project were developed by design work management and “Uralelectromed” research center experts. The technical process will involve modern equipment of domestic and foreign production. The basic operations will be automated.
