In January-July Switzerland increased gold imports by 7%

Switzerland in January-July 2016 imported 1,507 tons of non-monetary and untreated gold for a total of CHF 44.055 billion (45.76 billion US dollars), against 1 410 tons a year earlier which was equal to CHF 37.8 billion, according to the statistical office of the country's customs. The main mass of the precious metal was imported from the United Arab Emirates - 252.6 tons (CHF 10 billion), Argentina - 179.6 tons (CHF 552 million), and the UK - 103.9 tons (CHF 3.72 billion). Imports from Russia amounted to 10.119 tons (-54%) amounted to CHF 401.55 million.
For the export, Switzerland in January-July sent approximately 1,037 tons of gold (+ 4.5%) on CHF 40.13 billion. The most of it was exported to the UK - 331.1 tons amounted to CHF 13.2 billion, China - 174 tons (CHF 6.6 billion), India - 152.3 tons (CHF 5.75 billion) and Hong Kong - 154.25 tons (CHF 5.9 billion). There was no export to Russia in January-July. In 2015, Switzerland imported 2507.5 tons of non-monetary and untreated gold for a total of CHF 67.2 billion (USD 66.2 billion).
