Gokhran not to purchase palladium and diamonds in 2016

Gokhran is not planning to purchase diamonds for the replenishment of the State Fund of precious metals and precious stones of the Russian Federation in 2016, Alexey Moiseev, Deputy Finance Minister, informed yesterday to journalists. “The government’s decision taken states that this year we are purchasing precious stones at 5 billion rubles. Well, of course, mainly diamonds,” said Moiseev, adding that the brilliants are not being planned to be bought. Total amount budgeted for the purchase of precious metals and precious stones to the State Fund for the current year is 12 billion rubles. According to Moiseev, concerning the allocation of the remaining 7 billion rubles, “the decision has not been made yet”. In addition, Moiseev said that this year Gokhran is probably not going to buy palladium. “At the moment I don't see any reasons for Gokhran to acquire palladium, and reasons to buy other metals,” he said.
