Tajikistan to increase gold production 4 times by 2021

Subsoil users in Tajikistan could increase gold production 4 times by 2021 compared with 2015 - up to 17 tons, according to the information of the local government. The reason is new fields, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, with reference to the sectoral programs. The focus will be on the fields Taror, Chore, Pakrut. According to authorities, the Tajik gold assets comprise 137 deposits with counted reserves of industrial gold and 127 of non-industrial gold. As reported, in 2015, Tajikistan has increased gold production by 31.6% compared to 2014 - up to about 4.2 tons. In 2014, about 3.2 tons of gold were produced in Tajikistan.
Until 2014, figures on gold mining in Tajikistan were open. In early 2015, the authorities classified the figures on the volume of gold and other precious metals. Since 2015, the National Bank of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Finance buy almost all the gold mined in the country.
